Nutracheck medical advisor and leading obesity campaigner Dr Ian Campbell has been awarded an MBE in the 2009 Queen’s Birthday Honours for his services to healthcare.
Dr Campbell founded the National Obesity Forum (NOF) in 2000. He continues to campaign within the UK and internationally to raise awareness of obesity as a serious medical concern, and regularly appears in the media by contributing to and presenting many popular TV documentaries and feature programmes such as ITV’s The Biggest Loser, BBC’s Fat Nation and Channel 4′s The World’s Biggest Boy .
Dr Campbell said: “It’s a great honour. I find the whole thing rather humbling and slightly embarrassing. I never expected to be recognised in this way”.
